Free-Trial Checklist

Free-trial reminder checklist for iPhone.

A fast checklist for recording trial deadlines before they turn into forgotten charges.

The easiest time to prevent a forgotten trial charge is the moment you start the trial. If the cancellation date is left in memory, a receipt email, or a note you plan to find later, it is already fragile.

Use this checklist before you close the sign-up screen.

The checklist

  1. Write down the service name immediately.
  2. Add the trial conversion or renewal date before leaving the sign-up flow.
  3. Set the first reminder before the final day.
  4. Add a second reminder for expensive trials or annual plans.
  5. Keep the reminder somewhere that will interrupt you, not just somewhere that stores notes.

If you only do one thing, do it before you close the sign-up screen. A reminder created later is easy to forget; a reminder created during sign-up becomes part of the trial setup.

The question that matters

Monthly-budget tracking is useful, but it is not the urgent problem when a trial is about to convert. The urgent question is: what is about to charge, and when do I need to decide?

That is why the reminder should be tied to the trial or renewal deadline, not only to a monthly spending dashboard.

Where KeepDue fits

KeepDue lets you add a trial or subscription manually, see what is due next, and get local reminders before the charge. It does not require bank linking or an account, and it is free for up to 5 active subscriptions on one device.

When should the first reminder fire?

Before the final day. Give yourself enough time to decide, cancel, or check the trial terms.

Why add a backup reminder?

Expensive trials and annual plans have more downside if one notification is missed.

Do I need bank linking?

No. For trial deadlines, a manual reminder can be faster and more private than connecting accounts.

What if I only track monthly cost?

Monthly cost helps with budgeting, but it may not warn you before the trial converts.
